“The function of art is to do more than tell it like it is — it's to imagine what is possible.”

What is art therapy/my approach?
Art therapy involves making art and exploring creativity in order to unearth what someone may be experiencing. Through art, it’s possible to tap into our emotions, where language can otherwise escape us. When it feels right, we discuss what is coming up through the artistic expression, and begin to process.
I specialize in supporting BIPOC and LGBTQIA+ teens and adults, especially Gender Variant Youth (trans, non-binary, gender creative, gender non-conforming, etc.) and have developed expertise in the areas of trans wellness, toxic and minority stress.
TOGETHER, WE:
Work through grief, transitions and adverse experiences
Unblock mental traps by cultivating skills like mindfulness, self-compassion and self-forgiveness
Remove creative blocks and learn to deal with your inner critic
Alleviate depression by accessing more moments of joy and experience a wider range of feelings
My story
As a child, I grew up without having the words or the environment to make sense of my experience. I discovered early on that when language isn’t sufficient, then colours, shapes, and symbols can speak instead.
Art gave me a refuge to express my concerns, my feelings, and to explore who I was in a safer way. It brought a deep meaning into my life, and I felt called to help others with their own journey.
I hold a Masters Degree in Creative Arts Therapies from Concordia University, and have additional training in trans-health, mindfulness practices, pet-assisted therapy and trauma-informed care.
I’m here to stand by you and to give you tools to support your creative and healing process.
